The Biology department offers students in the Biological Sciences an unusually wide range of opportunities to explore a topic, issue or problem using the conceptual framework and tools of more than one academic discipline through interdisciplinary programs and majors.

The Goodwin-Niering Center for Conservation Biology and Environmental Studies Program
This interdisciplinary program draws on the expertise and interests of faculty and students in the departments of Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Econimics, Governments, Philosophy and Physics to address contemporary ecological challenges. The Center offers a certificate program for interested students.
